Elocution competition at UWCEC !

Elocution is the art of public speaking, and it plays a vital role in shaping an individual’s communication skills, confidence and overall personality. The elocution competition is an essential event in our school’s curriculum, aimed at nurturing young minds to become effective communicators.

Keeping this in mind, the kindergarten section of UWCEC recently hosted an elocution competition with a splashy twist – sea animals! The event saw enthusiastic participation from students aged 4-5 years, who took to the stage to share their favourite sea creatures. Each student spoke 5 to 6 sentences on their favourite sea animal like the dolphin, star fish, jellyfish, octopus, shark, whale etc.

Children were judged on parameters like pronunciation, memory, accuracy and fluency by the judge. Each participant was given badges with “Great job!” written on them as encouragement.

The sea animal elocution competition was a resounding success, demonstrating the potential of kindergarten students to become effective communicators. As they grow, events like these will continue to nurture their skills, preparing them for future successes.

Ganpati Celebration at UWCEC!

Ganpati Celebration at UWCEC!

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India, especially in Maharashtra. People bring home their own Ganesh idols on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi.

At UWCEC, a Ganpati workshop was conducted by the teachers where all the students made their own shadumati Ganesh idols which are bio degradable.

They were explained about how saving the environment is the truest way to show our devotion to the creator of this earth and hence festivals should never cause pollution and harm.

The students were also taught how to make paper Ganpatis and some of them made decorative fetas for their personal ganesh idols.

Aaarti was done by the UWCEC family where all the students and parents were present. Everyone sought the blessings of lord Ganesh and welcomed him with a big smile.

Founder’s Day Celebrated at UWCEC!

Founder’s Day holds a special place in a school’s calendar, marking a time to honor the visionary who laid its foundation. On September 3rd, UWCEC joyfully celebrated Founder’s Day, paying tribute to Mrs. Suman Datta, whose dedication and foresight brought this excellent institution into existence. Without her, this school—known for its quality education—would not be what it is today.

The celebration began with a heartwarming PowerPoint presentation, introducing the students to Mrs. Summan Datta Ma’am. Her life and values—cantered around compassion, wisdom, and courage—were highlighted, reminding everyone of the principles she upheld in creating this institution.

The students enthusiastically welcomed her with a special birthday song, filling the atmosphere with excitement and joy. They also presented Ma’am with a handmade greeting card and a bouquet, expressing their heartfelt wishes and gratitude. The staff members joined in, gifting her a beautiful bouquet of lilies, a token of their appreciation for her tireless work and commitment to the school.

The celebration concluded on a sweet note, as students and staff were treated to a cake, ending the day on a high note of joy and unity.
