Poem Recitation at UWCEC
Poems are a good source to learn new vocabulary, rhyming words and pronunciation. They help students to build confidence and to speak more accurately.
At UWCEC a poem recitation competition was organised for Sr.Kg. students. Children actively took part in the competition. The competition inspired the children to come forward and recite on stage. They came up with different poems and recited them with zeal and enthusiasm in front of everybody.
The main purpose of organising a poem recitation competition was to make the children overcome the fear of stage.
Children made efforts to memorise the poems and performed confidently on stage. They enjoyed the competition very much.

Raksha Bandhan means a bond of love and protection. Raksha Bandhan is one of the most important festivals in India. It is celebrated among the Hindus. It is the festival of love and togetherness. On this auspicious day, all the females tie a Rakhi on their brothers wrists.
This year UWCEC celebrated Raksha bandhan with great enthusiasm. Everyone came in their traditional attire. The teachers explained to the children the importance of culture and traditional values. They were explained why sisters ties rakhis to their brothers.
Children were shown a ppt based on Raksha bandhan and a short story in the form of a video to enhance their knowledge. They also made cute and colorful rakhis and tied them to the bus staff and security guards, as they protect us and ensure that everyone reaches back home safely during their bus trip.
