Grandparents’ Day Celebration at UWCEC !

What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour and comfort. They teach their children and grandchildren valuable life lessons like respecting others, helping people in need, moral and cultural values, etc. They are like warm sunshine in the garden of our lives, spreading love, wisdom, and joy.

To pay gratitude and to cherish the love and affection showered by our elders, UWCEC organized a Grandparents’ Day celebration with great enthusiasm. The stage was decorated with pictures of grandparents and grandchildren. There was music played in the background to welcome all Grandparents and they were given a beautiful butterfly badge.

The teachers had organized an activity where the grandparents and grandchildren together made puppets that symbolised grandparents. We could see the students guiding their grandpa and grandma to complete the activity. This was followed by a fun game of “glass pyramid ” which the grandparents enjoyed a lot. Winners were given gifts.

The grandparents shared their feedback about the event by pasting smiley faces on the feedback board. They also shared their experience with the UWCEC family. To cherish the memory of the event all grandparents took selfies at the selfie point. It was a day full of warmth, emotions and love and each face had a beautiful smile on it.

Elocution competition at UWCEC !

Elocution is the art of public speaking, and it plays a vital role in shaping an individual’s communication skills, confidence and overall personality. The elocution competition is an essential event in our school’s curriculum, aimed at nurturing young minds to become effective communicators.

Keeping this in mind, the kindergarten section of UWCEC recently hosted an elocution competition with a splashy twist – sea animals! The event saw enthusiastic participation from students aged 4-5 years, who took to the stage to share their favourite sea creatures. Each student spoke 5 to 6 sentences on their favourite sea animal like the dolphin, star fish, jellyfish, octopus, shark, whale etc.

Children were judged on parameters like pronunciation, memory, accuracy and fluency by the judge. Each participant was given badges with “Great job!” written on them as encouragement.

The sea animal elocution competition was a resounding success, demonstrating the potential of kindergarten students to become effective communicators. As they grow, events like these will continue to nurture their skills, preparing them for future successes.

Ganpati Celebration at UWCEC!

Ganpati Celebration at UWCEC!

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India, especially in Maharashtra. People bring home their own Ganesh idols on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi.

At UWCEC, a Ganpati workshop was conducted by the teachers where all the students made their own shadumati Ganesh idols which are bio degradable.

They were explained about how saving the environment is the truest way to show our devotion to the creator of this earth and hence festivals should never cause pollution and harm.

The students were also taught how to make paper Ganpatis and some of them made decorative fetas for their personal ganesh idols.

Aaarti was done by the UWCEC family where all the students and parents were present. Everyone sought the blessings of lord Ganesh and welcomed him with a big smile.
