Gudi Padwa Celebration at UWCEC!

Gudi Padwa Celebration at UWCEC!

Gudi Padwa, a vibrant festival marking the beginning of the Hindu New Year, is celebrated with much enthusiasm and cheer across India. These celebrations not only acquaint the little ones with their cultural heritage but also foster a sense of unity and joy among them.

In UWCEC, Gudi Padwa was celebrated with great pomp by all the 3 classes.  Teachers explained the significance of the festival through power point presentations and decorated the Gudi, in front of the children which ignited their creativity and curiosity.

Another integral part of the celebration was the story session, where teachers showed them story videos related to Gudi Padwa. Through these stories, children understood the cultural significance of the festival and the values of unity, happiness and hope.

This was followed by a ‘gudi’ making activity, where children enthusiastically participated in crafting miniature versions of the traditional gudi using colorful paper, sticks and decorative items. This activity not only enhances their fine motor skills but also educates them about the Gudi as it is the symbol of prosperity and good fortune.

In this way, UWCEC provided a delightful opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of Maharashtra, fostering a sense of belonging and pride in their heritage from a young age. These festivities not only brought joy and excitement but also laid the foundation for a lifelong appreciation of traditions and festivals.

UWCEC wishes all A Happy Gudi Padwa !

Easter Day Celebrated at UWCEC!

Easter holds great significance in the Christian community. On this day Christians keep a fast and go to Church for prayers.

UWCEC celebrated the Easter day with great importance. Students were told about this day through a Power Point presentation. All of them made takeaway Easter greeting cards to greet their friends.

Students were also explained the importance of sacrifice and why we give up something we love the most for this one month of Lent. They promised their teachers to give up on screen time and junk food and instead they promised to respect and listen to their parents, and elders and be kind to everyone.

In this way Easter Day was explained and enjoyed and venerated at UWCEC!
