Raksha Bandhan Celebration at UWCEC !

Raksha Bandhan Celebration at UWCEC !

Raksha Bandhan is a festival symbolizing the bond between brothers and sisters. This year, on this auspicious day, our tiny tots of UWCEC took part in a celebration by wearing traditional clothes and learning about traditional customs and rituals.

The day began with the little ones crafting rakhis in the shapes of lions, stars and ice creams. Their tiny hands worked diligently and their creativity knew no bounds as they decorated their rakhis with vibrant colors and glitter.

The celebration continued with the children tying the rakhis to plants. This activity was a beautiful way to teach the young minds about the importance of nurturing and protecting nature, just as they would protect their siblings. In a heart-warming gesture, the children also tied rakhis to the bus uncles. This act of kindness and gratitude was met with smiles and blessings, making the celebration even more special.

This Raksha Bandhan celebration at UWCEC was not just about tradition but also about spreading love, kindness, and responsibility. It was a day filled with joy, creativity and valuable lessons that the children will carry with them for years to come.

Tug of War played at UWCEC!

Tug of War played at UWCEC!

Recently, the tiny tots of Jr. Kg had an exciting time participating in a classic Tug of War game. They were divided into 2 teams where the children eagerly took their positions, ready to showcase their strength and teamwork. The game began with a loud cheer from both sides as the kids pulled the rope with all their might, laughing and encouraging each other.

As the little ones pulled the rope, they discovered that success comes from working together and supporting each other. Beyond the physical activity, this game also nurtured essential skills, such as communication and mutual support, in a fun and engaging way.

At the end, the students enjoyed the game, filled with laughter and friendly competition. The Jr. Kg students left with big smiles, having an energetic day at school.

Independence Day Celebrated at UWCEC!

Independence Day Celebrated at UWCEC!

Our Independence Day stands for the beginning of a new era, the start of new life – free from bondage and slavery. This day is celebrated throughout India with grand ceremonies, commemorating and honouring all the people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country.

This year UWCEC celebrated their Independence Day by paying a tribute to our great freedom fighters in a unique way. Children came dressed up as the different freedom fighters.

Teachers explained to the students the meaning of Independence Day. The national flag was shown and explained in the class. There were different art activities done related to the tricolour like the tricolour Butterfly and the tricolour handbag.

A few of the children coloured the symbol of unity with the tricolor on their worksheets. Students were told the story of Independence Day and explained the importance of this day and all parents were even requested to send some tricolour food in the lunch boxes of the students.

A group photo was taken by the teachers to cherish all these memories. Everyone could witness pride, happiness and a positive aura throughout the day.

Special Day Celebrated at UWCEC

Special Day Celebrated at UWCEC

Every year 10th August is celebrated as St. Lawrence Day at UWCEC. St. Lawrence is the patron saint of the school and is revered by all.

This year a huge statue of St. Lawrence was put up on the top of the school entrance. The Management, teachers and students offered prayers and sought his blessings. The prayer ritual was performed near the grotto of St. Lawrence in the school. This day is observed as a feast.

The teachers of UWCEC explained to the children about the greatness and generosity of St. Lawrence who always believed in uplifting the poor and the needy through a PowerPoint presentation. As the school stands tall due to the patronage of St. Lawrence, the pre-primary children beautifully colored a picture of the school. The children later enjoyed the cake given to them as a part of the feast.

The extraordinary life of St. Lawrence will always inspire the children and remembering him on this Day and seeking the blessings of such a selfless saint will always ignite goodness and kindness in them.
