Poem Recitation at UWCEC
Poems are a good source to learn new vocabulary, rhyming words and pronunciation. They help students to build confidence and to speak more accurately.
At UWCEC a poem recitation competition was organised for Sr.Kg. students. Children actively took part in the competition. The competition inspired the children to come forward and recite on stage. They came up with different poems and recited them with zeal and enthusiasm in front of everybody.
The main purpose of organising a poem recitation competition was to make the children overcome the fear of stage.
Children made efforts to memorise the poems and performed confidently on stage. They enjoyed the competition very much.

Lord Krishna is one of the most powerful in carnations of the Hindu dharma. The auspicious festival of Krishna Janmashtami celebrates Lord Krishna’s birth.
At UWCEC, we celebrated Janmashtami with great zeal and children came in the attire of lord Krishna and Radha. Teachers explained to them the significance of Janmashtami through power point presentations. They were shown the video based on the story of Kirshna’s birth.
Everyone participated enthusiastically in the celebration by breaking the Dahi Handi and dancing on the rhyme of Govinda songs. Different activities were done by the students in which Sr.kg Students decorated their handi template, Jr.kg decorated the handi with peacock’s feather in a creative way and Nursery made lord Krishna’s headband with peacock’s feather.
The tiny tots even learned to prepare “Gopalkala” Prasad with the help of their teachers and shared it with everyone.
In this way the significance of Janmashtami was explained in a joyous way at UWCEC.
