Fun with Legos at UWCEC!
In a world filled with gimmicky toys that flash and sing, there is still one old-fashioned favorite among young kids. At UWCEC the Nursery kids enjoyed playing with Lego blocks – those little building blocks that keep kids occupied for hours on end as they work on getting their creations just right.
There are many educational benefits of Lego. It’s a wonderful tool for brain development in the early years. Playing with Lego blocks and other construction toys actually builds multiple physical skills. Manipulating the pieces helps to develop hand-eye coordination, as well as bilateral integration – where the two sides of the body (or two hands) learn to work together.
In this way the students of UWCEC developed various skills in themselves while simultaneously having lots of fun.

Mother’s day celebration at UWCEC!
Mother’s Day is celebrated every year to honor all mothers. A mother is the one who always motivates her children, encourages them to move ahead and work hard in life. To express our sincere gratitude to such magnificent women, a special celebration was organized by UWCEC.
All the Jr.kg. mothers were invited to school for this celebration. The students had prepared a cute song for their mothers. The performance was loved by all the mothers and they were proud to see their children perform for the 1st time on stage.
The students made a crown with the help of their mothers and placed it on their mothers’ heads to show them how special they are. This made the mothers feel on top of the world. Even the students of Nursery made a bracelet for their mothers and the Sr.kg. children made puppets of their mothers with a small note of “I love you Mom” written on it. This is how all children expressed their genuine love and appreciation for their moms.
To cherish this memory, a group photo was taken of all the beautiful ladies who were present. The moms also took a selfie along with their child at the selfie point.
Few mothers also shared their experience of being with UWCEC. This appreciation and feedback from the mothers was a boost for all the teachers who sincerely give their best while teaching the students and while organizing such special days.

At UWCEC, the concept of fat and thin was taught to the children, to enable them to understand the different kinds of human bodies. They were explained that all living beings are born with an inherited body type based on their skeletal frame and body composition.
The teachers organized a few games and activities in which the children saw different animals such as a fat sheep and a thin dog, a fat elephant and a thin zebra etc. As a part of revision, a worksheet of fat and thin was done in the class.
This Practical knowledge based learning helped the children to understand the concept easily.

It’s always a good time to eat fruits and veggies!!
Fruits and vegetables are nature’s gift to all of us because they provide us with nutrition and fuel to keep our bodies healthy and strong. They come in different shapes, sizes, colors and flavors. They are very sweet and tasty.
Keeping this in mind, our little tots were taught about various kinds of fruits and vegetables at UWCEC. They were explained as to how the vegetables grow and how to take care of the plants so that they can give us ripe fruits. The children were shown a power point presentation and videos of different fruits and vegetables.
Various activities based on fruits and vegetables were done. Children were shown real fruits and vegetables because a vegetable vendor was invited to school. The children even bought fresh vegetables and fruits from the vendor. They had a really fun time buying the vegetables and fruits of their choice.
In this way the importance of eating healthy fruits and vegetables was taught at UWCEC.

Story telling is an ancient art of using interactive words and tonal variations creatively to convey an imaginative piece of writing in a manner that will keep readers hooked. It plays a critical role in a child’s overall development by enhancing their imagination and creatively promotes language learning.
At UWCEC, we read and narrate stories to our Sr.kg students in an innovative way. We have a special story room for story telling which creates a special environment for the students and helps in building their interest. Every week there are two story telling sessions for students.
This week the students enjoyed the stories a lot and responded to the questions asked at the end.
Through storytelling, our students are able to hear solid sentence structures of the English language which enhances their vocabulary, pronunciation and language skills. It also builds their own imagination in turn and makes them think and come up with new ideas.
