All about Water Pollution at UWCEC!

Pollution is the biggest problem facing us today. As we all know, water is an important element in everyone’s lives and a lot of water pollution comes from human activities like – sewage, using pesticides and fertilizers in farms, waste water and chemical discharge from factories, silt release from construction sites and increased litter from throwing trash.

At UWCEC, the teachers taught the Sr.Kg. students about the hazards of  water pollution and how human beings and all plants and animals get affected by it. Students were also explained some more causes of water pollution due to oil spills, pesticides, construction work and festivals.

They were all encouraged to start reducing water pollution by becoming more conscious about their daily activities. Even during festivals they were told to do things responsible e.g. making Ganesh idols from Shadu mati, using non-toxic colours during festivals, not bursting crackers and more.

The concept was reinforced through an art activity and a story based on water pollution. In this way all students understood the concept of water pollution and how to keep it under control.
