Counting and Positioning taught at UWCEC!
Introducing counting and positional concepts to kindergarten students lays the foundation for their mathematical understanding. At this stage, children are naturally curious and eager to learn through playful and engaging activities.
Understanding the positional words helps children describe the location of objects in space, which is essential for geometry and problem-solving. Positions like above, below, besides, in front of, behind, next to, right, middle and left were covered as part of this segment.
So, at UWCEC, children were taught counting and positioning with the help of objects and ten frames and through the worksheets Teachers took the reinforcement of the concept also to ensure complete understanding.
Teaching counting and positional concepts through engaging and interactive activities built a strong foundation for the children for their future mathematical learning. The teachers made these concepts fun and relevant to their everyday experiences, due to which children developed a positive attitude towards Math and built essential skills for their educational journey.
