Makar Sankranti, a significant harvest festival, marks the sun’s journey towards the northern hemisphere, bringing longer days and warmer weather. Celebrated alongside Pongal and Lohri, it highlights the importance of agriculture and the farmers’ hard work.

At UWCEC, students arrived in black attire to celebrate the festival. The day began with a PowerPoint presentation on its significance. Nursery students made crowns with thermocol balls, Jr. KG created kite-themed cards and Sr. KG enjoyed crafting colorful kites, which they later flew with great excitement.

The festive spirit was enhanced with til ladoos, a traditional winter treat made from sesame seeds and jaggery, providing warmth and energy.

The celebration brought together love, laughter, and gratitude, making Makar Sankranti a memorable experience for all at UWCEC.
