UWCEC presents “Bachpan Ke Din “
An Annual Day celebration allows the school to celebrate another year of its being, and appreciate the students’ achievements .It’s also a time for teamwork and being proud of what the school stands for and believes in. It encourages children to participate in various events and shows their talents and innate qualities.
Children these days are more enamored with electronic gadgets and rarely do we see them playing on the ground, sharing their belongings with others, and most unfortunate is the fact that they do not want to socialize. Keeping this in mind UWCEC presented “Bachhpan ki Din” on as the theme of Annual Day which was held on Friday, 3rd Feb, 2023.
The students of UWCEC along with their teachers presented a skit which told the story of two children who have never known what a regular school is like or what friendship. A stay at their grandparents’ house shows themes the fun that childhood days bring. Along with skit, each class put up a dance performance on different songs such as Rangtari, Eid, Dance Ka Bhoot, Friendship etc. Children dressed in colourful costumes performed with energy and enthusiasm.
In her address to the parents, Mrs. Summan Datta, the Managing Trustee and Founder Principal of the school, advised them to spend as much time as possible with the children as the bond formed in these formative years ensure the children grow up emotionally secure. She also advised them to keep the impressionable kids away from gadgets.
The show was choreographed and directed by the Atul Narang’s Dance Institute.
Seeing the tiny tots perform so joyfully was a treat for the parents and staff.

Makar Sankranti celebration at UWCEC !
Festivals are the lifeline of Indian culture. Makar Sankranti is a festival which marks the beginning of the new year with new harvest. It is celebrated all over India like Lohri in North India, Makar Sankranti in West India, Bihu in East India and Pongal in South India.
It is important that our children understand our tradition and how we celebrate different festivals in different parts of India. The children of UWCEC enjoyed the Makar Sankranti celebration in school by flying kites and exchanging tilgud. The children were shown power point presentation related to harvest festivals celebrated in different parts of India.
The children as well as the teachers wore black clothes and enjoyed basking in the warm sunshine while flying kites. The children also did various activities. The tiny tots of Nursery made colourful kites. The Juniors made cute little corn by actually sticking grains on it. The Seniors performed a sweet activity of sugarcane using ice cream sticks.
They were told about sharing and caring and how we should forget all the grudges and complaints and come together and enjoy every thing that we do by saying, “Tilgud ghya goad, goad bola”.
