UWCEC Kids Celebrate Gratitude with Joy!
The children of UWCEC recently came together for a heart-warming celebration of gratitude, engaging in activities that fostered appreciation and thankfulness. The event was filled with joy as the young students participated in various creative expressions of gratitude, including:
- Crafting a colourful gratitude chain
- Making gratitude flower cards
- Sharing in a gratitude circle, where they acknowledged the positive qualities and actions of their peers
Through these activities, the children learned that gratitude is a powerful tool for cultivating happiness and well-being. They discovered the joy of focusing on what they’re thankful for, whether it’s family, friends, pets, or favourite foods.
One child joyfully exclaimed, “I’m grateful for my friends, family, and ice cream!” Another added, “I’m thankful for my teachers, who help me learn and grow!”
The celebration served as a heart-warming reminder that even young minds can grasp and appreciate the value of gratitude. It was a day filled with smiles and positive energy, leaving a lasting impression on the students and reinforcing the importance of being thankful in their everyday lives.

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated festivals in India, especially in Maharashtra, where families joyfully welcome Lord Ganesh into their homes. At UWCEC, the spirit of this festival was brought to life with a special Ganpati Workshop for Nursery and Senior KG students.
During the workshop, the young students, guided by their teachers, crafted their own Ganesh idols using shadu mati (natural clay). This hands-on activity not only allowed the children to explore their creativity but also taught them the importance of using eco-friendly materials to protect our environment.
Junior KG students participated by making paper Ganpati idols. Their teachers explained the process in simple terms, guiding the children in creating Ganesha’s face by sticking together various cutouts. This activity was designed to be both fun and educational, helping the children develop fine motor skills while also introducing them to cultural traditions.
The Ganpati Workshop at UWCEC was more than just a craft session; it was an opportunity for students to learn about the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi, enhance their creativity, and work together in a supportive environment. By focusing on these educational aspects, the workshop successfully fostered a deeper understanding of culture, traditions, and teamwork among the young learners.

Janmashtami, the vibrant festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, was joyfully observed at UWCEC, filling the school with smiles and excitement. The day was packed with engaging activities that not only entertained the children but also deepened their understanding of this significant occasion.
The celebration kicked off with an interactive PowerPoint presentation that captivated the young audience. The children learned about the story of Krishna’s birth, his playful childhood, and the cultural importance of Janmashtami. This educational session set the stage for the day’s festivities, providing a meaningful context for the activities that followed.
One of the day’s highlights was the lively dahi handi event, where a pot of yogurt was hung high, and the children enthusiastically attempted to break it—a traditional and thrilling part of Janmashtami celebrations.
The creativity of the students was on full display through various craft activities organized throughout the day. They crafted beautiful flutes, headbands, and decorated dahi handi pots, all inspired by symbols associated with Lord Krishna. Adding to the festive spirit, the children dressed up as Radha and Krishna, their vibrant costumes and joyful expressions making the celebration even more memorable.
The Janmashtami celebration at UWCEC was a perfect blend of learning, creativity, and tradition. It was a day filled with happiness, where the children not only learned about an important cultural festival but also experienced it in a fun and meaningful way.
