UWCEC Visits The Planetarium

UWCEC Visits The Planetarium

A planetarium is a theater built to show educational and entertaining presentations about the universe and the night sky. Keeping this in mind, UWCEC arranged a field trip to Yashwantrao Chavan Planetarium for the Sr.kg.students.

It was a mind-boggling experience for the students as the show started with a starry night. They were amazed when they saw huge planets and the vastness and magnitude of our universe. The 3- D visual effects of the show made it an exciting experience for the students when they saw how the universe started with a big bang and how the stars and planets were formed. The presence of massive black holes, the birth and death of stars and also how a spaceship travels in space to gather information ignited their imagination.

UWCEC students are always encouraged to develop first-hand knowledge on the concepts they learn within the boundaries of the classroom. The main objective of this trip was to cultivate scientific fervor in the students and to give them a better understanding of the universe, solar system, constellations and galaxies as they are a part of their theme.

Music Workshop at UWCEC

Music Workshop at UWCEC
“Music has the power of forming character and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young.” – Aristotle.
Keeping this in mind, UWCEC organized a music workshop for the Junior kg parents and students. Various instruments like egg shakers, scarfs, drums and more were used in this workshop and the students were familiar with all of them from their regular music sessions at school. It was an interactive session filled with fun.
The workshop was conducted by Ms. Madhura who has been conducting such sessions since many years in Mumbai. It was a new experience for parents to learn about the effects of music and what impact it has on our tiny tots. It created a musical bond between the child and parent.
The workshop was a platform for parents and little ones to explore the joy of music together, creating lasting memories in the early stages of education.
