GK time at UWCEC!

GK time at UWCEC!

Just like how academic knowledge is imparted to children from a young age, even general knowledge skills need to be cultivated in them as soon as possible. Keeping this in mind, the students of UWCEC had G.K sessions in which various topics were covered as per their age.

One of the topics taught in this month was how people greet each other in different languages. In the afternoon, we greet each other by saying “Good afternoon!” in English, “Namaste” in Hindi and “Habari ya asari!” in Swahili. These greetings were taught using PowerPoint presentations.

The next GK topic was that of games and sports. The children were taught about the fast-paced Kabbadi and the entertaining Cricket. They learnt about the important players of the sport like Pradip Narval, Virat Kohli etc. They also learnt how sports play a vital role in developing teamwork, strategy and a sense of fair play.

Through such GK sessions they learn more about the world they live in and develop a global perspective.

UWCEC wishes you all A Happy New year !

Christmas Celebration at UWCEC!

Christmas Celebration at UWCEC!
Christmas is a festival that marks the birth of Jesus Christ and honors his virtues of giving and sharing and spreading joy and positivity. The entire world is brimming with a sense of compassion and love, and everyone is in high spirits!

Keeping this in mind UWCEC organized a Christmas carnival for the students.
There was a beautiful set up done by the teachers. There was a Christmas tree which was beautifully decorated and a scene from the manger was created. A Snowman and Santa Claus were also made to add some flavor to the celebration.

Teachers explained the significance of Christmas through a PowerPoint and story video followed by art activities like making Xmas tree hats, Santa Claus face puppets and a star with Santa’s face on it.

All parents were happy to see the Sr.kg students explaining the significance of the Manger, Snowman and other Christmas related stuff to them.

Students were thrilled to see Santa coming to their class and distributing stockings filled with gifts and chocolates and singing songs of Christmas.

The day was enjoyed by taking photos at the selfie point. In this way the year ended on a cheerful note at UWCEC.
