Kite making activity at UWCEC!

Kite making activity at UWCEC!

Paper craft encourages children to draw, tear, stick and paint and do several other exercises that promote dexterity. These activities develop the preschoolers’ fine motor skills and strengthen their ability to concentrate for longer periods.

So at UWCEC we taught children how to tear and paste two different colors of crepe paper on their worksheets to form a colorful kite. This helped to enhance their hand-eye co-ordination and also to promote creativity.

Working with such materials teaches them about colours, shapes and textures, how things work and how they fit together. Craft encourages children to play and experiment in a fun and relaxed environment. Every child enjoyed this activity and learned new techniques from it while also creating different products from it.

Students learned about Mahatma Gandhi at UWCEC!

Students learned about Mahatma Gandhi at UWCEC!
Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary was celebrated at UWCEC School, Ashwinnagar, CIDCO. Students learned the values and principles that he stood for like non- violence, truth, and social justice through a ppt shown to them. They were made to realize that each one of us has the power to make a difference, by embracing the values that he stood for his entire life. Teachers had planned various activities related to Gandhiji.
The Nursery students made the Charkha which Mahatma Gandhi used to weave Khadi clothes. The Junior KG students made three monkeys to convey the message that do not see evil, speak evil or hear evil, and the Sr Kg students made a puppet of Mahatma Gandhi.
All students tried to embibe the values of Mahatma Gandhi through the above-mentioned activities on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. All this made an imprint on the minds of the students, and they realized the importance of simple living and high thinking.

UWCEC wishes all A Happy Gandhi Jayanti !

Field trip to the Dairy Farm!

Field trip to the Dairy Farm!
UWCEC organized an educational field trip to Khot Dairy Farm, Wadala on 26th September 2023. It was an exciting trip for the children as they actually got to see all the farm animals about which they had learnt inside class.
During the visit to the dairy farm, they saw different animals like cows, calves, buffaloes, goats and their young ones, sheep and cats. They also saw birds like hens, ducks, geese, parrots and pigeons.
The teachers explained to them about each and every animal, their features, the food they eat, the sounds they make and their young ones. The children were very enthusiastic and wanted to touch the animals. They got an opportunity to do so under the teachers’ guidance.
This experience gave them a real-life learning opportunity. Children are always curious and learn a lot from their surroundings. They are also able to retain what has been taught in an impactful way.

Let’s learn patterns at UWCEC!

Let’s learn patterns at UWCEC!

Patterns are a very important part of logical mathematics, due to which children are able to deduce and think systematically. Learning patterns provides an opportunity to the children to observe and use logic based on that observation.

Children should be trained for using patterns in daily life so that they can apply this logic in all aspects. These are the building blocks of algebra.

In UWCEC, the Sr.Kg. children are learning how to use patterns – like AB, AAB, ABB, ABC – in a very simple and interesting manner. They were provided with worksheets for practice and patterns of colours, shapes and sizes were also taught.

Now the children of Sr.Kg can recognise and complete 2 part and 3 part patterns.
