Ganpati Making Workshop At UWCEC
A joyful Ganpati Idol Making Workshop was organized for our preschoolers to blend culture, creativity and care for the environment.
During the workshop, children received wet Shadu Mati clay. They learned to knead it softly, and mould it into different parts – the head, trunk, ears and body and then gently rejoin them to give Bappa a beautiful form.
It was much more than art. While working with the clay, their fine motor skills, concentration, listening and observation skills were greatly polished. The children learned to work with delicate hands, with patience and love, to make their Ganpati idol look beautiful and cute.
With the guidance of their teachers, the children made their own cute Ganpati Bappas and carried them home safely in containers. The happiness on their faces while holding their own Bappa was truly priceless.
