Music Sessions at UWCEC!

Music is a magical world that opens up endless possibilities for young minds.

Our Senior Kindergarten children embarked on a delightful journey into the realm of music where they not only sang but also explored the enchanting world of musical instruments. This early exposure to music sets the stage for their lifelong appreciation of melodies and rhythms.

Singing different songs helped them develop their language skills along with memory and coordination. They were able to cultivate better listening skills and their creativity sparked a great deal.

Playing different musical instruments introduced them to the concepts of rhythm, melody, and harmony and also improved their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Moreover, these music lessons encouraged social interaction and teamwork as they engaged in group performances and musical activities with their peers.

The musical experiences of Sr. Kg not only brought them joy and fun but also provided a solid foundation for their holistic development. Thus we at UWCEC made use of fun ways to learn yet again to be able to make each child a learner for life!

Counting and Positioning taught at UWCEC!

Introducing counting and positional concepts to kindergarten students lays the foundation for their mathematical understanding. At this stage, children are naturally curious and eager to learn through playful and engaging activities.

Understanding the positional words helps children describe the location of objects in space, which is essential for geometry and problem-solving. Positions like above, below, besides, in front of, behind, next to, right, middle and left were covered as part of this segment.

So, at UWCEC, children were taught counting and positioning with the help of objects and ten frames and through the worksheets Teachers took the reinforcement of the concept also to ensure complete understanding.

Teaching counting and positional concepts through engaging and interactive activities built a strong foundation for the children for their future mathematical learning. The teachers made these concepts fun and relevant to their everyday experiences, due to which children developed a positive attitude towards Math and built essential skills for their educational journey.

Recognition of numbers is very important for children. It helps them understand quantities and how numbers are used in their daily lives. Number games are an excellent way to make Maths fun. They help in engaging kids with numbers.

At UWCEC the Sr. Kg. children played a number-dot game. They learned counting through this game and got familiar with dots and figures.

It was fun for the children and helped them to remember all Math concepts easily.

Due to such games children develop the skill of problem-solving and also start thinking logically.

Mother’s Day is a special day to honor and appreciate the selfless love and care of mothers and to shower them with love, gratitude, and affection. To express our sincere gratitude to such magnificent women, a special celebration was organized by UWCEС.

At UWCEC, Mother’s day was celebrated with all the grace and love. The Nursery students made ear rings for their Mothers, while the Sr Kg children made crowns for their mothers. All the Jr.kg. mothers were invited to school for this celebration.

The students had prepared a cute song for their mothers. The performance was loved by all the mothers and they were proud to see their children perform for the 1st time on stage. The students made a crown with the help of their mothers and placed it on their mothers’ heads to show them how special they are. This made the mothers feel on top of the world. This is how all children expressed their genuine love and appreciation for their moms.

To cherish this memory, a group photo was taken of all the beautiful ladies who were present. The moms also took a selfie along with their children at the selfie point.

Few mothers also shared their experience of being with UWCEC. The appreciation and feedback from the mothers was a boost for all the teachers who always give their best while teaching the students and while organizing such special days.
