Father’s Day celebration at UWCEC!
The first superhero children meet in their life is their father. During the growing years of a child a father works tirelessly day and night to give him/her the best upbringing. He is the one who takes care, loves unconditionally, safeguards and takes complete responsibility of the family.
Keeping this in mind Father’s Day was celebrated in a unique way with the students at UWCEC. The children were shown a PowerPoint presentation as to why we celebrate Father’s Day and how we should make our dads feel special and express our love and gratitude to them for everything they do for us.
The children made a father puppet and expressed their love and respect to their superhero. Few made greeting cards and Thank you cards for their fathers. A special Father’s Day celebration was organized for the Sr.kg children who were in school and invited their fathers. The teachers had organized games and activities for each father-child duo and took many photos to cherish the memories of this day.
This is how the little Lawrentians paid an ode to their fathers.

India is a land that represents the blending of beliefs, diversities and culture which can be witnessed through different “festivals”. Holi is a festival cherished through colors. It symbolizes the power of love and the victory of good over evil. Families come together, friends forgive each other and unite to enjoy the celebration of colors. The festival is celebrated for 3 days starting with the rituals of Holika Dahan, Choti Holi and the final day of Holi celebrations.
Students of UWCEC were explained about Holika Dahan, Dhulivandan and Ranga Panchami through powerpoint presentations which included the preparation of Holika Dahan , the rituals which take place during puja ,the importance of using natural colors , not to use water to help reduce water wastage , to be careful with pets and ensure that we don’t harm them while playing colors, etc . This was followed by different activities such as – Colorful tree through finger dabbing , Holika Dahan painting through palm and finger print and water pistol splashing colourful water .
The school had organized rang Panchami celebration for students where they were told to wear colorful dresses. Songs were played and everyone played with colors on the school ground. Children enjoyed putting on the colors on their classmates, friends , teachers and support staff .
