Bail Pola Celebration in UWCEC
Bail Pola Celebration in UWCEC
Pola is a thanksgiving festival celebrated by farmers in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh to pay gratitude to the bulls, who are a crucial part of agricultural and farming activities.
At UWCEC, the teacher explained to the students the importance of bulls in agriculture by showing PowerPoint presentations. Teachers helped the students to conduct various art activities. The Nursery students decorated the template of a bull by doing finger dabbing, the Jr.kg students decorated it by colouring the picture of the bull and the Sr.kg students coloured it with glitter.
Students were also told that on this day we worship the bulls and thank them for helping us. On this day the bulls are decorated with colourful paints, beautiful shawls, bells etc so that they feel special.
In this way, the students came to know the motto of celebrating Bail Pola. They came to know that bulls play the most vital role in agriculture through which we get the crops to make our food.

Sponge dabbing is a very versatile art activity which caters to any lesson theme and can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
A Butterfly sponge dabbing activity was organized for the Nursery Children, where they got to feel the paint on their fingers and they learnt to use the proper amount of pressure on the sponge to get the required texture. Children also learned about the differences in the texture of different sponges and enjoyed playing with colors.
It was a fun experience for the students and furthermore they also learnt about hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
